Pambre cheese, made by Queixos de Galicia, becomes one of the best in the world at the World Cheese Awards 2025-26
AIRA has just achieved a new milestone with the award of the gold medal to Pambre cheese , an Arzúa-Ulloa made in Queixos de Galicia, a company in which AIRA and GARCÍA BAQUERO participate. The prestigious recognition of the World Cheese Awards 2025-26 , one of the most relevant competitions in the international dairy sector, represents a decisive boost.
This international award, one of the most relevant in the dairy sector, highlights not only the excellence of the product, but also the collaboration model that underpins the project. Queixos de Galicia combines García Baquero’s industrial trajectory and capacity for innovation with the roots, professionalism and commitment to rural Galicia that characterize AIRA.
For the Cooperative, this gold represents direct recognition of the daily work of the member farms , whose milk makes it possible to maintain a level of quality that is now endorsed worldwide. The award reflects the care taken in every step of the process: from responsible production on the farms to processing at the Palas de Rei plant.
“The distinction for Pambre cheese consolidates AIRA’s strategy in favor of quality, innovation and sustainable development of the rural area, as well as the commitment to placing Galician products in the most demanding markets and competitions,” the Cooperative points out.
AIRA extends its congratulations to the entire Queixos de Galicia team, to Lácteas García Baquero and, very especially, to the farming families that are members of the cooperative .
A decisive year for Queixos de Galicia
This recognition comes at a particularly symbolic moment: it is one year since the creation of QUEIXOS DE GALICIA SL, the alliance between AIRA and GARCÍA BAQUERO, which was born with the purpose of promoting quality Galician cheese. In just twelve months, the company has become a benchmark for its innovative capacity.
In Queixos de Galicia, Pambre , awarded with this gold and belonging to the DO Arzúa-Ulloa, is made, as well as Queixo Tetilla de Pambre and Arzúa-Ulloa Tres Viajeros , expanding an offer that combines tradition, identity and excellence.
