With this agreement, Quesos de Galicia S.L. will be created and will begin to produce cheeses with milk from the Cooperative’s member farms.
AIRA and GARCÍA BAQUERO have just sealed a strategic alliance with which they join forces to start producing cheeses made in Galicia and with milk from the Cooperative’s partner farms.
With this agreement, Queixos de Galicia S.L. will be created to market these cheeses, in a bid to jointly promote the production, development, innovation and internationalization of Galician cheeses.
The agreement will combine AIRA’s experience and knowledge in the supply chain with GARCÍA BAQUERO’s commercial and production capacity, thus guaranteeing a sustainable, efficient and value-added operation for the partners, workers, consumers and customers of both entities.
“With this initiative both entities reaffirm our commitment to the development of the Galician agri-food sector and the creation of value throughout the supply chain. Through this collaboration and joint effort we work to consolidate the excellence of our products, positioning Galicia as a benchmark for quality cheeses made with the flavor and tradition of Galicia,” says Daniel Ferreiro, general manager of AIRA.
This alliance will not only strengthen the position of both companies in the market, but will also generate greater value for customers. It will also give GARCÍA BAQUERO the opportunity to start a new stage of collaboration with AIRA, aimed at offering products and services of the highest quality, consolidating the Galician cheese brand and exploring new and cutting-edge trends within this category“, explains Miguel Ángel García Baquero, CEO of GARCÍA BAQUERO.
In addition, this project is a firm commitment from both AIRA and GARCÍA BAQUERO to produce quality cheeses in Galicia, and this was conveyed by both entities in a working meeting with the Regional Minister of Rural Affairs, María José Gómez, which was also attended by the general director of Livestock, Agriculture and Agri-Food Industries, José Balseiros. The meeting on behalf of ERA was attended by its president, José Manuel López Tellado; the general manager, Daniel Ferreiro, and the vice-president, Javier Taboada. GARCÍA BAQUERO was represented by its CEO, Miguel Ángel García Baquero. On the other hand, the Consellería considers this project to be of special interest to continue to boost the Galician dairy sector, in particular by betting on the transformation of the milk produced in Galicia.
