‘A pegada de AIRA’, slogan of the staff meeting

The agro-livestock cooperative held this Friday, February 23, its first workers’ convention under the slogan “A pegada de AIRA”. The event took place at the ATTICA21 hotel in Vilalba (Lugo) and gathered more than 270 workers of the more than 300 that make up the staff of the cooperative. The purpose of the event was to highlight the value of the work carried out by each of the workers, which is essential for the cooperative to function. Likewise, it also served to promote the values that are encouraged from AIRA, such as effort, commitment, equality or respect, among many others.

The event began with the projection of the corporate video and then, the general director of AIRA, Daniel Ferreiro, made a short presentation on the past, present and future of the entity. “The commitment, effort and dedication of all AIRA’s workers led the cooperative to be a reference in the sector”, highlighted the director. Thus, he recalled that the cooperative has numerous areas of work, “and all of them are important, relevant and necessary”. He also stressed that AIRA’s function is not only to solve problems or meet needs, but to be always one step ahead: “We must anticipate what is to come and what the sector will have to face in the coming years”.

Then, Cristina Lamas and Alba Vázquez spoke about their experience as the employees with more seniority and less, respectively. Thus, in their presentations they showed why they are still committed to be part of the AIRA team, after more than three decades, in the case of Lamas, and why they decided to join nowadays, in the case of Vázquez. The first part of the event was concluded by coach Emilio Duró, who gave a talk on ‘A Nosa Pegada. A life with meaning’. In his presentation he recalled the importance that “life changes in an instant” and advised “not to sacrifice what is important for what is secondary”. He added that in the face of the reality of life it is necessary to accept it, adapt and show a positive attitude. In his motivating speech he concluded: “You work in a cooperative, this is a fortune, because happiness lies in cooperating”.

After lunch, the president of the cooperative, José Manuel López Tellado, thanked the work they have been doing in AIRA and the participation in an event of special importance for the whole team. The day concluded with the renowned monologuist Carlos Blanco, who offered one of his shows to all the workers in attendance and, finally, a DJ put the finishing touch to the day.
